SESAME PRAWN TOASTS
These Sesame Prawn Toasts are great as a snack or a starter!
Note: Be careful when introducing seafood to babies due to allergies.
INGREDIENTS
150g prawns, shelled and de-veined
1 clove of garlic, crushed
1 egg white
1 teaspoon of cornflour
1 spring onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
Small pinch of white pepper
100g sesame seeds (white, black or mixture of both)
3 slices of bread, crusts cut off
METHOD
Place all of the ingredients except of the sesame seeds and bread into a blender/food processor and blend until they form a paste.
Take the bread and spread the paste on top of each slice. Cut across each diagonal into 4 triangles (or use a cookie cutter to cut into fun shapes!).
Spread the sesame seeds onto a plate and place the bread prawn paste side down onto the seeds so that they stick to the paste.
Heat a little oil in a pan over a high heat and toast the sesame/prawn breads for 3 minutes or until golden and crispy on each side.
Serve as a snack or starter!
VEGETARIAN TWIST - substitute the prawn and egg for firm tofu.
